Del Ray, Virginia-A Small Town Nestled by the Big City
Del Ray was one of the first suburbs of DC, and features breathtaking historical Victorian style single-family and art-deco duplex homes. While there are not any high-rise condos in the Del Ray neighborhood, some of the older buildings near the main shopping district have been redesigned recently as 5 and 6 unit condos, though they still have preserved the beautiful exteriors of the historical buildings.
As one of the first suburbs the the Nation's Capital, many historical figures of our government lived with their families in the area, and Del Ray still prides itself on being the perfect family-friendly small town that offers quick transportation to D.C. The eclectic, artistic vibe of Del Ray flows gently through the streets, from the small boutique specialty shops and lack of chain stores, to the preserved historical homes and meandering sidewalks. Residents are enthusiastically proud of their unique small town feel just miles from the D.C border and many festivities throughout the year bring neighbors and friends together in celebration of the wonderful Del Ray community.
